Computer designed and manufactured one day crowns
The E4D Dentist system is a comprehensive chairside CAD/CAM system (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing) that produces beautiful metal-free porcelain full crowns and onlay restorations in one day with superb precision. A handheld laser scanner captures a true 3D image of teeth, the software then creates a virtual model and enables us to design your restoration immediately. The restoration is then milled and glazed to a natural looking appearance.
In-Office Zoom Whitening
The quickest, easiest way to effectively whiten your teeth is in-office treatment with Zoom. Zoom is the only in-office system that has variable intensity setting so each treatment can be customized to maximize patient comfort. The system also includes desensitizers to help minimize sensitivity and protect your enamel. This dentist-supervised, in-office procedure is safe, effective and clinically proven to create brighter smiles.
Drs. Childress and Alassaad choose carefullywhich and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. We can examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Ourclinical staffutilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 70 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.
Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.
Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light.
Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
Dental CBCT images provide three-dimensional (3-D) information, rather than the two-dimensional (2-D) information provided by a conventional X-ray image. Dental CBCT, provides a fast, non-invasive way of answering a number of clinical questions and helps with the diagnosis, treatment planning and evaluation of certain conditions such as abscesses, root fractures, implant placements, jaw cancers, etc .
Diagnodent is a laser technology that scans your teeth with harmless pulses of light allowing us to discover cavities sooner with more precision. Cavities often hide along fissure lines of teeth making it difficult to spot them before they threaten the integrity of the tooth. When there is a change in tooth structure, fluorescent light of a different wavelength bounces back to the sensor, which is translated to a digital read-out. Depending on the readings of Diagnodent, we can determine if the areas in question are potential problem areas requiring only preventive measures and close monitoring or indicate a definite area of cavity requiring a filling.
Drs Childress and Alassaad and our clinical staff utilize intra and extra oral camera technology to enhance your understanding and participation in your diagnosis. These cameras allow the clinician to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, enabling us to more accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral Cancer, if not detected early, poses a serious threat to overall health. We utilize the VELscope Oral Cancer Screening System to check the health of your oral tissues as a part of our initial and regular yearly examinations.
Most people think that only those of older age and those who smoke or drink heavily are at risk of oral cancer, but oral Human Papillomavirus infection is now considered an important risk factor even in the absence of smoking and alcohol consumption.
The American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs recognizes the rising incidence of head and neck cancer associated with HPV. According to data from the National Cancer Institute, the lifetime risk for developing oral cancer is greater than the lifetime risk for cancers of the brain, esophagus, and lymphomas.
The VELscope System helps us discover abnormal cells hiding below the surface before they become cancerous. It adds only two minutes to a regular examination and it is completely pain free and affordably priced at $20. By detecting these potential problems earlier, we are providing our patients with the best health care available.
